Ephesians 3:20

October 24, 2012
"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." Jeremiah 33:3
God says to call to Him. When you call to someone you have to wait for an answer. Think of either calling out or actually calling someone on the phone. It takes time and patience to hear from them. Usually when we call, they answer and have great things to talk over. In the “Message” it says, “Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.” Perhaps I need to listen more to the answers He is giving. What great things is He telling you?

"For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose." Philippians 2:13
Also from the “Message” it says, “ Be energetic in your life of salvation, reverent and sensitive before God. That energy is God’s energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure.” It isn’t about our wants and desires. It is about what God wants and wills in our life. Granted when we are inline with what Christ has for us our hopes, joys, and desires match His own. However, we need to make sure that we aren’t making the plans and expecting God to bless. We need to seek His will and act accordingly. God is working in each of our lives. It may not always be exactly what or how you would have planned, but isn’t it better to trust in Him and His ways.

When we do trust Him, it is always FAR more than we could ever imagine. “God can do anything, you know- far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Sprit deeply and gently within us.” Ephesians 3:20 (Message)
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.” Ephesians 3:20

Be excited for what the Lord has for us. May we CALL to him and LISTEN to all that He is asking us to do.

10.9.12 Without Complaining

10.9.12
Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe… Philippians 2:14, 15

How many times do I want to complain to others? Sarah Young reminded me, again from “Jesus Calling”, to take my request before the throne. He will ease our pain and calm our souls. Scripture says to cast our burden on Him. I am never truly content unless I give Him my burdens and trust in His unfailing love. I regret days like today where I haven’t gone to the Father first. I pray I will be an encouragement to others rather than complaining about silly scratches, bumps and bruises.

A Piece of the Puzzle

If you haven’t bought “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young, Stop reading right now and go and buy it…  Okay now that you have it… Today’s talked about “You need not fear the future, for I am already there.” He has our future in His hand and is in complete control.
I was reminded today, while I was completing puzzles with the neighborhood children, that when we look at all the mixed up pieces we can get overwhelmed about not knowing where to start or what piece is next. We can start today by moving step by step or when working on a puzzle putting piece by piece together. No need to be overwhelmed, just relax and enjoy each piece God gives.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.  Matthew 6:34

Laughter and Rain… 9.26.12

Those of you who know me know how much I love to laugh… :) and maybe snort too! Today day has been a great day of laughing. May the showers of laughing rain down on you.
I LOVE rain here in Leticia! Most days are very hot and humid, almost unbearably humid. Today has been a wonderful day of rain. It was VERY overcast this morning and then this afternoon we have had showers. Me gusta la lluvia! (I like the rain!) Never have I been one who loves when it rains, it normally makes me sad, but here you see how much you need it. You need it to cool you off, to help the plants, and so much more.
I was able to see laughter today because of the rain. When I arrived home, there were 6 soaking wet, giggle girls waiting to come to our apartment. My roommates help neighborhood children with homework and do Bible studies with them as well. Today, because of the rain, my roommates were running late and when I arrived home all the girls were waiting to get in. We laughed and played games and were thankful for the cool breeze blowing.
I also was able to laugh with friends from home tonight! I love to laugh and am thankful for friends God has placed in my life that is a reminder to me to laugh OR snort! ;) Laughter is the best medicine!
Ecclesiastes 3:4 - A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance.
