Let the little children come to me...
September 2, 12
Today I was reminded about the passage from
Matthew 19:13-15
“Then children were brought to him that he
might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but
Jesus said, “Let the children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such
belongs the kingdom of heaven.” And he laid his hands on them and went away.”
On Sundays in Leticia, many of the roads are
completely closed off. Cones are put out and guards are stationed that only
allow you to pass if you live there and are headed home. At first I thought, it
was kind of crazy. “Why would you completely close off an entire road?!?” Then moments later I realized they closed
them off so that the children could have somewhere to play. Tons, and tons of
children were out on bikes, with kites or just walking up in down the street
with balls or toys. So many times we get in a rush not just with children, but
also with the rush of life and forget to go to Jesus. Not all of these children
know Jesus, but it was a great image and reminder to me to stop and go to Him.
Forget about the busyness of life and truly rest in Jesus’ hands.
Perhaps we all need to take time, like the
children, forget about the tasks of life and go directly to our Father and rest
in His hands.

You
word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105
So
thankful to have something that can guide each step and give direction to each
path. When we spend time with Him, he reveals his path and direction for our
lives. Praying you each will seek out time to spend with the Heavenly Father.
We can trust that our time with Him will not be wasted, rather that we will
have eyes that are open to what He is doing and how he is working.
Last
week was very busy with changing from Bogota to Leticia and getting situated,
but as I continue to seek him I find that he is right there with me. He is NOT
some far off being, but He is in every footstep. Excited to see how God will
continue to use me while I am here in Leticia.
