Dame tus ojos quiero ver (Give me your eyes so I can see) 9.15.12

Dame tus ojos quiero ver
(Give me your eyes so I can see) 9.15.12

Today, I was reading one of the many letters I was given as I left the states. The scripture for today was Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him m who have been called according to his purpose.” Many days I pray this verse; I will have the eyes of Christ and love and follow His will as He places it in front of me. I know that He will work all things together for His good purpose.
We must fix our eyes on Him and His Word, so that we may see what He sees and do His will, not ours.
I have the great pleasure of going on the River and sharing God’s Word with people. May I have His eyes to see them as He sees each and every one. May I go in His name and speak His truth.
So thankful for the family and friends (that are family) that God has blessed me with. Each one means so much and encourages me. What a blessing it is to have so many who show me God’s love by being in my life and teaching me to see His truth and His ways.

let the little children come to me...

Let the little children come to me...

September 2, 12

Today I was reminded about the passage from Matthew 19:13-15

“Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, “Let the children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” And he laid his hands on them and went away.”

On Sundays in Leticia, many of the roads are completely closed off. Cones are put out and guards are stationed that only allow you to pass if you live there and are headed home. At first I thought, it was kind of crazy. “Why would you completely close off an entire road?!?”  Then moments later I realized they closed them off so that the children could have somewhere to play. Tons, and tons of children were out on bikes, with kites or just walking up in down the street with balls or toys. So many times we get in a rush not just with children, but also with the rush of life and forget to go to Jesus. Not all of these children know Jesus, but it was a great image and reminder to me to stop and go to Him. Forget about the busyness of life and truly rest in Jesus’ hands.

Perhaps we all need to take time, like the children, forget about the tasks of life and go directly to our Father and rest in His hands.

You word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105

So thankful to have something that can guide each step and give direction to each path. When we spend time with Him, he reveals his path and direction for our lives. Praying you each will seek out time to spend with the Heavenly Father. We can trust that our time with Him will not be wasted, rather that we will have eyes that are open to what He is doing and how he is working.

Last week was very busy with changing from Bogota to Leticia and getting situated, but as I continue to seek him I find that he is right there with me. He is NOT some far off being, but He is in every footstep. Excited to see how God will continue to use me while I am here in Leticia.

You Invite Us In...8.24.12

So thankful that God invites and take us in. What a blessing it has been to be invited in this first weeks with those leading training, then with the families and missionaries I will be working with. I am so excited for the next few months.

This morning I was reading Proverbs 16 and was reminded God has a very specific plan and purpose for me coming and on my life. Praying each of you commit your ways to the Lord and completely trust in what God has for you.

God has a plan!

This trip and today have been started with Jeremiah 29:11...
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

It excites me that God has a plan and it will be amazing!
He doesn't just leave us to work on our own, but has it all under control and know exactly what is to come. Today we have been doing orientation and learning a lot about the countries we will serve in and who we are. It has been a learning experience and very encouraging to be with fellow believers who are going through and experiencing the same things as I am. I am very excited about what the future holds and trusting that God will do GREAT things! :)

HIS Grace is Sufficient!!

I really should be asleep... I head to the airport in about 2 hours! :)

I am so excited and ready to be "ON MISSION" with Spring Valley Baptist this week! Looking forward to the opportunities that God will give us as we head to Jalaca, Honduras and New Life Children's Home. Please pray as we go and spread the Good News of the Gospel!

My verse of the day today was: "And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weakness, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me." -2 Corinthians 12:9

Praying as we embark on this journey that we will rest in the fact that His grace is sufficient!
